HOST International is a growing not-for-profit organisation aimed at providing direct relief and strategic support services to improve the livelihoods of refugees, asylum seekers and other displaced people throughout the world.

Through strengths based and trauma informed approaches we provide education and support services to improve the livelihoods and independence of refugees and asylum seekers whilst assisting host countries to integrate them into the general community. We currently employ 100 staff across three countries within the Asia Pacific region. 

About the role:

The Senior Case Manager will be responsible for providing support, mentoring and supervision to the local trainee case managers, ensuring the quality of ongoing capacity development of local case management services. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role will oversee the coordination, implementation and review of support plans with a view to establishing seamless support for refugees from multiple stakeholders.

The Senior Case Manager will also lead the development and implementation of individual support plans for refugees with complex needs or heightened vulnerabilities, playing a key role in developing independence, hope, humanity and dignity for clients and establishing effective support relationships which foster self-agency.

To be considered you will need to meet and respond to the below essential selection criteria: 

  • A minimum Diploma qualification in Community Services
  • Experience in leadership, mentoring and providing supervision to staff
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in case management within the human services sector including experience working with clients with complex needs or heightened vulnerability
  • Demonstrated experience working in a professional capacity with culturally and linguistically diverse and/or Refugee backgrounds
  • Highly developed written and oral English communication skills
  • Demonstrated competence in use of Microsoft Office and online data systems

It will be looked upon favourably if you have the below experience and qualifications.

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural or Social Sciences
  • Experience working in a fly in fly out (FIFO) role, and or working/living in a developing country
  • Proficiency in the following languages – Arabic, Tamil, Persian or another refugee language group

In return for your sought-after skills and experience, HOST offers the following:

  • The salary package on offer is from $76,607.86 which is Grade 5.2 of the SCHADS Award plus salary packaging and superannuation.
  • You will be provided accommodation and a daily living allowance of $125 whilst on deployment in Nauru.
  • Your flights to a home base (anywhere in Australia) are included.

This position is a maximum term contract role until 7 December 2018 with a possibility of extension, operating on a 3 week on and 3 weeks off roster working in Nauru.
